    • 연구실 소개

    MicroRNA(miRNA)는 대략 22nt 정도로 단백질을 암호화하지 않는 small RNA이다. 이들은 표적 유잔자의 전사 후 과정에 작용하여 단백질 번역 수준을 조절하는 것으로 보고되고 있다. miRNA의 생물학적 기능은 세포의 발달, 분화, 증식, 세포사멸, 스트레스반응, 지방대사, 인슐린 분비, 발암과정 등의 광범위한 biological process에 관여한다고 보고되고 있으며, 새로운 조절 물질로 각광받고 있다.

    본 연구실은, 인간 세포를 이용하여 노화, 각종 암, 줄기세포에 특이적으로 발현하는 신규mRNA or miRNA를 cloning하여 세포 내에서의 기능을 연구하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 현재 22종의 신규 유전자와 17종의 신규 miRNA를 동정하여 각종 세포에서 특이적인 mRNA/miRNA의 database를 구축하였다. 따라서 본 연구를 통하여 각 miRNA의 고유한 기능을 밝혀내는 것은 뉴 밀레니엄 의료 바이오 산업의 성장 동력자산으로서 뿐 아니라 범 세계적 생명약학을 선도할 것으로 기대한다.

    주요 연구내용

    유전자조실연구실은, 사람 세포를 이용하여 노화, 각종 암, 줄기세포에서 특이적으로 발현하는 신규 mRNA or miRNA를 cloning하여 세포 내에서의 기능을 연구 하고 있으며, 세부적으로는

  • hMSC의 대량 배양을 위한 hMSC에 존재하는 신규 mRNA/miRNA의 확인 및 기능 연구
  • 각종 암세포에 존재하는 신규 mRNA/miRNA의 확인 및 기능 연구
  • 각종 노화세포에서 특이적으로 발현하는 신규 miRNA(가칭 107)의 기능 연구
  • 유전자 진단 kit 개발을 위한 암세포에서 특이적인 신규 유전자 (imup-1,2)의 기능 연구
